The International Thespian Society (ITS) is the honor society for middle and secondary school theatre students. Membership is granted for the performance of meritorious work in theatre arts that meets the Society's general guidelines. Students meet one important induction requirement by earning Thespian points.

Why should I join?

Students will receive an Official membership pin, card and certificate. Members receive exclusive Thespian interviews  for college admission and scholarships along with school, state and international leadership opportunities. Thespians are eligible for state and international Thespian opportunities including training, mentoring, and assessment from theatre arts educators and stage professionals. Graduation bling and regalia - stoles, cords, medals, pins and certificates. Thespians who demonstrate high academic success in overall coursework while achieving excellent work in theatre earn the distinction "scholar".

How do I join?

Students need to meet one important induction requirement by earning Thespian points. These are awarded based on the quality and quantity of work they perform in theatre and related disciplines. Using the form linked below students will track their points and must submit by the deadline provided by the troupe leaders to be recognized at the Annual Banquet.

What are Thespian Points?

A point system is used to track students' work, as high school and middle school students earn induction and the designation of Thespian or Junior Thespian, respectively. Students will then go on to earn progressively higher honors.  Students must accrue 10 points through their participation as an actor or a crew member to be eligible for induction into the Thespian Society.

What is the Thespian Council?

The Thespian council is comprised of  students who are elected by their peers to lead the entire troupe to success with individual and shared responsibilities. There are five officer positions of responsibilities; President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Historian. Six chair positions are essential to make sure that the group is successful: Event Coordinator,  Community Service, Outreach, Big/Little, Sophomore Representatives, and Freshman Representatives.
